“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?

And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’”

(, NIV)

August has brought the start of a new school year for the teachers, staff and students at Kingswood Elementary.  Because of your dedication to our Lord and your generosity to the church, we have been able to provide the teachers and staff with a delicious and hearty Welcome Back Luncheon.  The teachers and staff would like to thank you so very much for your support!

The teachers and staff would also like to thank the families who attended VBS for their generation donations.  We were able to provide 13 students in the 2nd grade with their beginning of the school year supplies!  How wonderful is that!

Genesis members are invited to continue volunteering as classroom tutors during school hours.  Times and days vary, so please contact Elaine Hoffelt at Kingswood Elementary (919-460-3481) if you are interested in helping.  Volunteer opportunities include helping kids to learn their letters, helping kids to learn to read or write, helping kids with basic math, etc.  It may only be an hour a week for you, but it will provide a lifetime of change for the child you help!

The school is also looking for assistance with clubs.  Student Council, Running Club and Science Olympiad already have club leaders, but additional assistance is needed.  Please contact Elaine Hoffelt (919-460-3481) for more details and to let her know if you are interested in helping out with any of these.

Possible new clubs that they would like to have started at the school are: Chess Club, Book Club, Lego Robotics Club, Photography Club, Knitting Club and an Art Club.  Clubs can be held before school (7:50-8:30am) or after school (3:45-4:45pm or 4:00-5:00pm)  Please let Nina Gervase know if you are interested in taking on one of these fun clubs for the kids.

Do you hear the voice of the Lord calling you to volunteer at Kingswood Elementary?  If so, respond to Him with ‘Here am I. Send me!’
