GET INVOLVED…..Our Unleashed Youth Ministry serves those in Middle School & High School and offers opportunities  for our Youth to model Jesus in their acceptance, forgiveness, & service.  The Youth in this group desire to be together in an atmosphere of fun & fellowship where God’s unconditional love is evident.

The Mission statement for our Unleashed ministry is to strive to be a group of young people who are inspiring each other, regardless of age, to always be on their guard, to stand firmly in faith, to be men and women of courage and strength, and to do everything in love.

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

How do I stay informed?

For details on our events, make sure you are receiving our weekly e-mails. If you would like to be added to our weekly email list, send a note to  Also if you are on facebook, ask to join the Genesis Unleashed facebook page to stay informed on activities.  We also have a Twitter account: GUMC Unleashed and an Instagram @GUMC Unleashed.

We incorporate mission opportunities each month into our Unleashed evenings.  We have participated in Stop Hunger Now, made bag lunches for Raleigh Rescue mission, made goodie bags for the USO, partied with our local nursing home and retirement communities, and purchased food for the Dorcas food pantry.  This are just a few of the ways we encourage our youth to spend time giving back to our community.

Small Group Sharing

We also spend time discussing topics that are on the minds of our youth.  We use the Bible as a lens as we process such topics as how to deal with peer pressure, how to love ourselves as God loves us, unity in the church and beyond, and how to put others before ourselves.

Sunday nights always incorporate time for fellowship through our sharing a meal together.  We have many events throughout the year to just enjoy being together and having fun.  We have several meals with our Primetimer group and spend time with them playing games.  We have an annual lock in at Triangle Rock Club as well as retreats for both High school and Middle school youth.  We have had dances, Zumba, basketball, scavenger hunts – loads of fun times to really get to know one another!  Join us at Unleashed…it is an environment of support and friendship and God’s Love.

 Sunday Morning Bible Classes

There are classes for Middle School and High School Youth at 10:10 am each Sunday.  The Middle School class studies the Bible through movies.  The High School group studies books of the Bible and current topics.

In January of each year we offer a semester long Confirmation class for our students in grades 8 and up.  This class studies what it means to accept Christ as their personal savior, about the history and principles of the Methodist church, and how students can grow as Christ’s disciples.  We celebrate Confirmation Sunday in May of each year as part of our Sunday worship service, renewing our own covenants of faith as these students make their public profession.
