Local Benevolence PartnerIn 2025, Dorcas Ministries and Western Wake Crisis Ministry merged, giving rise to a new organization—NeighborUp. A shared legacy and mission to help our neighbors, built on decades of compassion and service to our community, strengthened our ability to serve deeper and broaden our impact. Together, with over 1,300 dedicated volunteers, hundreds of faithful donors, and numerous community partners, we can continue to provide help for today and hope for tomorrow to thousands of neighbors each year.
Local School PartnerKingswood Elementary School invests in genuine, long-lasting relationships with students and their families. Their student-centered learning environment focuses on equity, high expectations, social-emotional development, and educating the whole child.
As our partner school, we work directly with the school counselors and social service providers to make sure that no child or family slips through the tracks.
We have opportunities to serve teachers, students, and families in various ways throughout the year.
Local Building PartnerThere is a tremendous need for affordable housing in our community. One in four families in our community is cost-burdened, meaning they pay too much of their income toward housing at the expense of other necessities like groceries, healthcare and education.
To help meet this need, Habitat of Greater Raleigh provides homeownership opportunities for families making less than 80% AMI and preserves existing affordable homes. Since 1985, Habitat Greater Raleigh has built more than 850 safe, affordable, energy-efficient homes in all parts of Wake, Johnston, and Franklin counties.
Local Fostering/Adoption PartnerMethodist Home for Children was founded in 1899 as a traditional, campus-based orphanage serving children referred by local Methodist churches. Today, the Methodist Home for Children has evolved and expanded to serve families regardless of their religion, race, or socioeconomic status. The children in their care live throughout the state, where the MHC partners with public agencies and raises funds through private gifts and grants to provide the best in evidence-based services.
International PartnerZoe Empowers began in 2004, as a response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Zimbabwe. Initially, their work consisted of feeding programs, medical services, and other relief activities for vulnerable children through schools and churches. In 2007, Zoe was introduced to a radically new way of empowering orphaned kids and youth-led families to become self-sufficient. Since 2007, Zoe Empowers has translated the empowerment model across cultures and contexts, impacting nearly 300,000 vulnerable children, across 11 countries: Kenya, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Liberia, Tanzania, Mozambique, India, South Sudan, Uganda, and Zambia.
